The National Association of the Deaf has just announced the 2024 Super Bowl performers for Super Bowl LVIII. They are Daniel Durant, Anjel Piñero, and Shaheem Sanchez.
Super Bowl LVIII will take place on February 11, 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Academy Award winning actor Daniel Durant will perform the National Anthem in American Sign Language. Actress and model Anjel Piñero will perform “America the Beautiful”. Actor, dancer, and choreographer Shaheem Sanchez will sign “Lift Every Voice and Sing” as well as perform the ASL Halftime Show.

Meet the ASL Performers
Who are the American Sign Language performers who will be gracing our screens on February 11, 2024 during Super Bowl LVIII? Well, the wait is over. They have finally been announced and we are excited to share them with you!
Daniel Durant
Minnesota-native Daniel Durant, born on December 24, 1989, is a distinguished American stage and screen actor, making a significant impact in the entertainment industry.
Daniel Durant is best known for his starring role as Leo Rossi in CODA, a film that garnered three Oscars (2022), including Best Picture. Durant received numerous accolades for his work in the movie, including: a Screen Actor’s Guild Award for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture; a Sundance Award for Best Ensemble, an HCA Spotlight Award; and the AFI Award for Best Ensemble.
But his acting career started much earlier than that. His first acting breakthrough was his role as “Moritz Stiefel” in the 2015 Broadway revival of “Spring Awakening.” He has appeared in several other theatrical productions as well as several television series including “You”, “Chicago Med”, and “Florida Man”.
He is often also recognized from his recurring role in the ABC Family series “Switched at Birth” (2013–2017).
He also is well known in the Dancing with the Stars world for placing fifth in Dancing with the Stars Season 31 with his partner, and now fiance, Britt Stewart.
With a diverse and accomplished career, Daniel Durant brings a wealth of experience to his role as one of the Super Bowl 2024 interpreters, adding a touch of theatrical finesse to this celebrated event.
Anjel Piñero
Anjel Piñero, a versatile actor and model, has not only secured a place in the top 23 of the 2023 Miss New York USA pageant but is also set to compete in the prestigious 2024 Miss New York USA pageant.
Anjel’s talent extends across various platforms, with notable performances on television, video, promotions, and the stage. Her on-screen appearances include roles in Law and Order SVU and ASL promotions for popular Nickelodeon shows like Spongebob Squarepants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Kenan and Kel. Anjel has also been featured in ads for major brands such as Android, Mercari, and Apple.
The stage has been a significant canvas for her theatrical prowess, starring in productions like One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest at Gallaudet University, Into the Woods as Little Red at Lincoln Center New York City, Here, All Dwell Free Handless Maiden at New York University, and The Music Man at Olney Theatre Center.
Anjel’s achievements extend beyond the spotlight, as she proudly earned the title of Valedictorian for the 2018 graduating class of the New York School for the Deaf – Fanwood.
Shaheem Sanchez
Shaheem Sanchez stands as a multifaceted artist, recognized as an actor, performer, dancer, and dance choreographer.
Beyond his captivating online presence, where he both entertains and educates thousands of followers in American Sign Language (ASL), Shaheem’s dance career has garnered widespread admiration from both professionals and fans alike.
His professional journey includes noteworthy collaborations with renowned music artists such as Ciara, Usher, and Snoop Dogg, showcasing his versatility in the entertainment industry. Shaheem’s cinematic debut took place in the feature film “Sound of Metal” in 2019, a testament to his expanding influence. Notably, he has shared the screen with esteemed actors, including Academy Award-winner Troy Kotsur.
In addition to his film endeavors, Shaheem has been featured in promotions for Apple Music and Apple TV+, solidifying his presence in mainstream media. The NFL’s “Drip by NFL” campaign during the 2023 season prominently featured Shaheem in a national commercial.
As the founder of Feel the Music, Shaheem is dedicated to bridging the gap between the deaf and hearing communities. Currently residing in Los Angeles, his commitment to inclusivity and artistic innovation continues to make a profound impact.
